The basic steps that you need to take to get traffic we're going to go over the four biggest platforms that can drive traffic to your blog and we're going to kind of dissect them and show you where we think you should be spending your time . You should know how to reach the maximum unmber of traffic to your blog ?
The first way that most people try to get traffic
is with Google and Google is pretty obvious you come in here you type into Google
what it is you're looking for and up comes all these searchresults now there's
some positives and negatives of having a blog that's focused on Google SEO
search engine optimization for those of you that don't know there's lots of
traffic that come everybody uses Google and it's a very trusted source of
traffic which is a great thing obviously there's all sorts of traffic sources
you can use but not a lot of them are trusted the negatives of picking Google
though are pretty obvious since everybody's on it it's incredibly competitive
and it can take a long time to rank your content which can be a pain and also
you kind of have to continue updating your content to keep it on top so that's
one way you can go about this and the best way if you if you're trying to Google
traffic is to use Google Adwords and more specifically a tool called the
Keyword planner what you go is you type in keywords here and this will come up
and show you how many searches are there and the competition and suggested bid
it's more complicated than that trust me but if that's what you're going for
then those are the resources you need to use .
The
second way to get traffic to your blog is Facebook but with mostly paid ads
right now the problem is that Facebook used to give people a lot of organic
reach but Facebook wants to make money and so they make you pay for ad revenue
usually to get people to visit your post it's very rare that a blog post is
ever going to get free organic traffic and the reason why that is is this is
that on your Facebook feed there's all sorts of competition there's videos
there's cat memes there's there's all sorts of stuff you're competing with and
just a regular written blog post well it doesn't really stand out that much if
you're thinking about it like that so Facebook the positives again is that it's
a trusted source and if you have the money for ads well it's pretty quick traffic
because you can just give Facebook money they will show your ads to a certain
amount of people and hey you have blog traffic so that's pretty great and we
tried it at the beginning but we were super unsuccessful in and couldn't find a
good way to actually bring in new visitors the negatives of picking facebook
are very costly and the organic traffic reaches is very low unless posts go
viral and again for virality on Facebook right now it's more Facebook video and
that's the direction that it's moving and you should be aware of that at this
time that just a regular blog post again unless it's some next-level stuff is
not going to be or is not going to get organic viral search volume .
Number three is guest post , guest posting is
a good way to get started and the reason why is that there are established
brands like Huffington Post I actually used to be a writer for a website called
the bro Bible back in my college after college crazy days where I would post
content a health and fitness content and since they already have a large
audience they then can will show that audience your content and you can hopefully
send them to your website your opt-in wherever it is that you really want them
to go .
So guest posting is is a great way to do this
the the positives are that the traffic is free and it's fairly easy as all you
have to do is write a good article and submit it now getting on Huffington Post
is a little more difficult than that it's got to be a really great article but
you understand the concept right guest posting is an immediate way to get traffic
to what you do the negatives of Guus posting are that you don't own the content
because I posted all those posts on bro Bible I now can't use it for my website
so there's definitely some negatives to guest posting and it can also be hard
to get into if you're new to writing that being said you know I really didn't
even think of myself as a writer when I got my first post into the borough Bible
I just wrote something and sent it to the editors like give me a shot and he
agreed and the post did really well so that's how I got started so you know you
can go after high tier web sites like Huffington Post lower to your websites
it's all a good idea .
The last way that we will talk about is Pinterest and
we like to call Pinterest the peanut butter if blogging is jelly they work so well
together and they drive tons of free traffic to your website we generate ourselves
over half a million monthly views from Pinterest alone I think it was actually
two days ago that we had 22,000 views in a day and we've had to eat them up
even up to 97 thousand views in a day with Pinterest you might be wondering why
does it work so well well because Pinterest doesn't have video on it just yet
so it makes it very blogging friendly people go on that platform you know just
peruse and and and go through some articles and and check out some new recipes
and things like that but the thing is that Pinterest works so amazing for
blogging because it's all image based as well so if you cream create beautiful
images in beautiful posts like we do for avvocato well then you can get a ton
of traffic the biggest thing to me was that the traffic is free you know we
drive more of the traffic than this now and it's all free we don'tspend a
dollar and add revenue because and one of the big things about Pinterest that
people miss is that Pinterest is more like a search engine it's not like a
social media there's not like a lot of talking or social interaction on there
it's more like people go there and they search for what they're interested in
and then then they can come to your blog and because and you can optimize it
and it's sort of like a dumb Google is a good way to say it it's a dumb Google
that you can master if you spend some time on it and we have mastered Pinterest
the cool thing is also sustained traffic because it's a search engine .
Pinterest is the number one place for bloggers
to get traffic again like I said before the negatives it does take a little
time to master but your time is very worth it on that search engine and guess
what mastering anything takes time so you want to spend your time in the place that's
going to give you the best ROI .
